Rolex's ultimate status watch, Day-Date.
Introduced in 1956, the Day-Date was the world's first waterproof self-winding chronometer wristwatch with a dial that displays the date and full-spelled day of the week.
The case is manufactured in 18K gold or platinum only. With the only day of the week display and limited materials, it has established itself as the finest watch in Rolex.
Day-Date is sometimes called "President Watch".
Its origin began with being presented to the 34th President of the United States, Dwight Eisenhower, and its name was established by the patronage of successive presidents.
case, the gold bracelet is known as the "President's Breath" and has a strong image of being a "first-class watch worn by successful and leaders."
This Ref.1803 is a 3rd generation day-date vintage model produced from the 1960s to the late 1970s.
The case is made of 18K yellow gold. The color is very subdued, and the impression is that it is not too noticeable even though it is a gold watch.
1803 refers to the case material, and it is distinguished from "1803/9" for WG (white gold) and "1803/5" for RG (rose gold) in the same model. increase.
Also, the fact that the windshield is made of plastic can be said to be a feature of the 4-digit day-date. From the next generation, the windshield will be sapphire glass.
The dial is a silver dial with a sunray finish. Silver is rare because there are many combinations of champagne gold in YG cases.
It's not a bar hand that is common in day-date, but an alpha hand, so it's more vintage, yet it gives a sophisticated impression.
The outer circumference of the dial has been dropped one step, and the condensed design is a characteristic of the vintage that can be seen in the Datejust of the same 1960s.
When it comes to the next generation Ref.18038, the dial will become flat, and the outer circumference will change to a railroad-like design called a railway circle. The movement equipped with
and
is a self-winding Cal.1555.
This is the machine installed in the previous model of Ref.1803. Since the quick change is not installed, the day of the week and the date can be adjusted by reciprocating the feed and return of the minute hand.
Comes with a light dark brown leather strap using Kaiman crocodile. The buckle is a genuine Rolex GP buckle.
Overhauled by Airy's. The case has been polished (new finish) at the time of overhaul.
Also, the windshield is replaced with a new one at the time of overhaul.
1 year warranty.

About Complete Service
Complete service, sometime called overhaul is the work of disassembling a mechanical product down to its individual parts, cleaning and reassembling it to bring it closer to its new state of performance.
Roughly speaking, the overhaul procedure is as follows.
1. Separate into case and movement
2. Disassemble the movement
3. Inspection and pre-cleaning of wear condition of each part
4. Wash parts with a special machine
5. Lubrication and assembly
6. Waterproof test
7. Final adjustment and running test.
Some movements are made up of hundreds of parts, but it is a very meticulous process of disassembling them one by one, inspecting them all, cleaning them, and reassembling them.
If you don't overhaul, the oil will deteriorate just like a car, and the risk of wear and damage to parts increases, causing a decrease in accuracy and, in severe cases, not working.
There is also the reason that it will be very expensive to replace parts after they are found to be damaged, so we recommend overhauling once every 2-3 years for economical and long-term use.
About Polishing
Vintage watches have been used for decades, and even the stainless steel used in many watches has rounded corners that were originally sharp, and has many small scratches even though the mirror finish should be beautiful. state.
At Arbitro, some watches are sold with a new finish, based on the idea that you can purchase them in beautiful condition and use them for a long time.
In particular, gold-cased dress watches are finished to bring out the best of the precious metal case.
The watches sold by us that have been given a new finish are shot in very high definition, so you can see that the edges stand out and the light is reflected by the mirror finish.
Also, depending on the case or bracelet, there are cases where multiple finishes such as mirror finish and hairline finish are mixed, but there are not many craftsmen who can distinguish between them and finish them at a high level.
In addition, the “thinness of the case” is also a part that is greatly influenced by the skill of the craftsman.
A watch that has become thinner and has thinner lugs is far from its original design, and the appearance becomes unbalanced.
It is a very precise work that brings the case closer to the original finish by eliminating scratches and dents while reducing the thickness of the case to the utmost limit.
Of course, there are cases where it is better to use the watch as it is, in order to emphasize the history of the watch and its original condition.
We look at each watch and judge whether it is best to finish it before selling it.
