-Description
The Datejust is Rolex's signature automatic watch, introduced in 1945. Its distinctive appearance has made it widely known as a watch that is instantly recognizable.
This model can be said to be the culmination of Rolex's three major inventions: the "Datejust mechanism", which instantly changes the date at midnight, the "Oyster case", and the automatic "Perpetual mechanism".
Reference 16233 is a vintage model that was introduced around 1988 and produced until 2005. It is a so-called 5-digit reference, and is gaining popularity as a neo-vintage watch that follows the basic design of the Datejust established in the 1960s while also being practical.
The 36mm case is neither too small nor too large, making it an ideal size for everyday wear. The combination design of the stainless steel and yellow gold bezel with the beautifully cut fluted bezel creates a luxurious feel.
The dial is a black tapestry dial. The vertical stripes create a shadow effect, and the way it looks changes depending on the angle is appealing. The biggest point is that it is an original design that is not found in vintage models from the 1960s, and does not exist in current models either.
The bracelet is the Jubilee bracelet 62523H. It has a dressy look and gives the impression that it is a bracelet for the Datejust. The small links give it a tight fit and one of its features is how comfortable it is to wear.
The movement is the automatic caliber 3135. Even today, about 30 years after its release, it is still considered one of the best movements in the watch industry.
This is a highly refined movement that, with regular maintenance, will retain its accuracy indefinitely and is also easy to service.

Due to Washington Convention, we cannot export Crocodile/Alligator/Lizard leather overseas.
We will replace the strap with a similar strap made of calf leather as an alternative.
Or we will send the watch without strap if we don't have stocks of them.

オーバーホールについて
オーバーホール(Overhaul)とは機械製品を部品単位まで分解して清掃、再組み立てを行い、新品時の性能状態に近づける作業のことです。
オーバーホールの手順として大まかに説明すると、
1.ケースとムーブメントに分ける
2.ムーブメントを分解する
3.各部品の消耗具合の点検・予備洗浄
4.専用の機械で洗浄
5.注油・組み立て
6.防水検査 (防水機能が保証されるもの)
7.調整・ランニングテスト
という流れで行われます。
ムーブメントによっては数百の部品で構成されますが、それらを1個単位まで分解し全てを点検し洗浄して再度組み立てるという非常に緻密な作業です。
オーバーホールをしないと、車と同じようににオイルが劣化し部品の摩耗や破損のリスクが高まり、精度の低下や重症の場合は動かないという事態を引き起こします。
部品の破損が見つかってから交換すると非常に費用が嵩むという理由もありますので経済的かつ長くお使い頂くためにも、2-3年に一度のオーバーホールを推奨しています。
ポリッシュ(研磨/新品仕上げ)について
ヴィンテージウォッチは何十年と使用されてきており、多くの時計に使用されるステンレスでも本来角が立っていた部分が丸みを帯びてきたり、鏡面仕上げが美しいはずが小キズが多く入っているという状態になってしまいます。
アルビトロでは美しい状態で購入して頂き、長くお使い頂くという考えのもと、新品仕上げを施して販売している時計がございます。
特にゴールドケースのドレスウォッチは貴金属ケースの良さを最大限に引き出す意味でも仕上げを施しています。
アルビトロで販売している時計で新品仕上げを施したものは非常に高精細で撮影しているためエッジが立っている、鏡面仕上げによって光が反射しているのがお分かり頂けるかと思います。
また、ケースやブレスレットによっては鏡面仕上げとヘアライン仕上げなど複数の仕上げが混合しているものもありますが、それらをきっちりと区別して高いレベルで仕上げることが出来る職人は多くはありません。
また、「ケースの痩せ」に関しても職人の腕に非常に左右される部分です。痩せてラグが細くなってしまった時計は本来のデザインからは遠くなり、見た目のバランスが悪くなってしまいます。
ケースの痩せを極限まで減らしながらキズや凹みを無くし、本来の仕上げに近付ける非常に緻密な作業です。
勿論、その時計のこれまでの歴史として、またオリジナルコンディションを重視するという意味でそのままの状態でお使い頂くのが良い場合もあります。
1つ1つの時計を見て、仕上げを施すのが良いかを判断した上で販売を行っています。
