-Description
Cellini is a dress line that focuses on elegance and does not use an oyster case, which is Rolex's most distinctive feature.
Although it is less well-known than the Oyster case dress line and sports models such as the Datejust, it has a long history and was created in 1928. This Cellini is the only one in the Rolex collection that bears the name of a specific person, giving it a unique position.
Reference 3804 was manufactured in the mid-1970s. The case is round but has a curved design with integrated lugs. Like the Omega C case, it has no breaks and looks more refined.
The case is made of 18K white gold. The case size is 31.5mm. A closer look at the case reveals a radial hairline finish on the surface. The case back is also characterized by different finishes: polished on the periphery and vertical hairline on the inside.
The dial is a silver dial sunray finish. There is a σ (sigma) mark on both sides of SWISS at the 6 o'clock position on the dial. This marking can be found on watches made by manufacturers that belonged to an organization called APRIOR from about 1973 to about 2000, and indicates that precious metals such as gold are used for the dial and indexes.
This was added to "indicate that it is a high quality gold Swiss-made watch". It is a specification that can be found on watches from five companies: Rolex, Patek Philippe, Vacheron Constantin, IWC, and Omega, but not on all watches.
It is believed to have been used by Rolex from around 1973 to the mid-1970s, and is prized by collectors for its rarity.
The movement is a manual-wind Cal. 1601. Including the base model Cal.1600 and the minor changed model Cal.1602, it is a highly reliable movement that has been used for several decades.
It comes with a special outer and inner box for the Cellini and original guarantee paper. The paper states that it was sold in 1978. It also comes with a genuine steel buckle.

Due to Washington Convention, we cannot export Crocodile/Alligator/Lizard leather overseas.
We will replace the strap with a similar strap made of calf leather as an alternative.

オーバーホールについて
オーバーホール(Overhaul)とは機械製品を部品単位まで分解して清掃、再組み立てを行い、新品時の性能状態に近づける作業のことです。
オーバーホールの手順として大まかに説明すると、
1.ケースとムーブメントに分ける
2.ムーブメントを分解する
3.各部品の消耗具合の点検・予備洗浄
4.専用の機械で洗浄
5.注油・組み立て
6.防水検査 (防水機能が保証されるもの)
7.調整・ランニングテスト
という流れで行われます。
ムーブメントによっては数百の部品で構成されますが、それらを1個単位まで分解し全てを点検し洗浄して再度組み立てるという非常に緻密な作業です。
オーバーホールをしないと、車と同じようににオイルが劣化し部品の摩耗や破損のリスクが高まり、精度の低下や重症の場合は動かないという事態を引き起こします。
部品の破損が見つかってから交換すると非常に費用が嵩むという理由もありますので経済的かつ長くお使い頂くためにも、2-3年に一度のオーバーホールを推奨しています。
ポリッシュ(研磨/新品仕上げ)について

また、ケースやブレスレットによっては鏡面仕上げとヘアライン仕上げなど複数の仕上げが混合しているものもありますが、それらをきっちりと区別して高いレベルで仕上げることが出来る職人は多くはありません。
また、「ケースの痩せ」に関しても職人の腕に非常に左右される部分です。痩せてラグが細くなってしまった時計は本来のデザインからは遠くなり、見た目のバランスが悪くなってしまいます。
ケースの痩せを極限まで減らしながらキズや凹みを無くし、本来の仕上げに近付ける非常に緻密な作業です。
勿論、その時計のこれまでの歴史として、またオリジナルコンディションを重視するという意味でそのままの状態でお使い頂くのが良い場合もあります。
