-Description

Created by Louis Cartier in 1912, the Tortue was Cartier's third wristwatch, after the Santos-Dumont and Tonneau.

As the name suggests, the turtle-inspired case was an avant-garde design for a time when there were only round watches, but it eventually became a classic.

This reference 2762 is Monopusher chronograph from CPCP (Collection Privée Cartier Paris).

CPCP was produced from 1998 to 2008 as a top-of-the-range men's line and remains a highly popular collection even now that it is no longer in production.

The case size is slightly larger than a standard monopusher chronograph at 38 mm, matching contemporary tastes for more massive watches..

The case is made of 18K white gold. It has a polished finish on all sides. The case back of the watch has a partially skeletonised back and sapphire glass.

Beneath the curved sapphire glass, the dial features CPCP's signature fine guilloche engraving and blued-steel Breguet hands.

The Cartier Paris notation not only gives it a vintage feel, but also indicates that it is a special collection watch.

The installed movement is a manual wind Cal.045MC. A movement manufactured for Cartier by a company THA Ébauche.

THA Ébauche is a movement development company co-founded by three watchmakers: F.P. Journe, Vianney Halter and Denis Flageollet.

The first two are very well known for their own namesake brands, while Denis Flageollet is a co-founder of De Bethune, and each of these watchmakers has a proven track record as an independent watch brand, so this is a very valuable movement.

The column-wheel chronograph movement is also used in the Tank monopusher chronograph and De Bethune DB1 monopusher chronograph.

The Cartier double C logo is engraved on the bridge part visible from the skeleton back. This is another major feature of CPCP watches.

Comes with a deployant-buckle made of 18K white gold, the same material as the case.
