-Description

Santos Galbee reference 2961 is an early automatic model, officially called Santos de Cartier, but also known as Santos Carrée.

Carrée means "square, angular" in French, and describes the straight lines of the design. The side of the case is straight when viewed from the side, and the bracelet links are also squarish.

On the other hand, the word Galbee means "curved, bulging," and later models equipped with quartz movements named Galbee have curved case sides and bracelet links.

This watch has the most standard Santos combination of a stainless steel case and an 18K yellow gold bezel and screws. It is generally referred to as a combination.

The design is a mix of sporty atmosphere and elegance, which is unique to Cartier. It is clear that this watch was made at a time when luxury sports watches were beginning to appear on the market.

The dial is a white-colored dial with fresh black Roman numeral indexes and blued steel hands.

The movement is a self-winding Cal. 2671, an ETA-based movement with a calendar display at the 3 o'clock position, which is a difference from the quartz model.

The biggest feature of this watch is that it comes with an international lifetime warranty.

This is a warranty that came with some Cartier watches, mainly from the 1970s, and by presenting this warranty, you can receive a service that is almost unthinkable these days: all complete service costs at Cartier will be free for life.

Only the complete service cost is free, and if the dial or glass needs to be replaced, that cost will be charged, but the service cost is increasing every year, so not having to pay for maintenance is a very significant point in owning a watch.

The bracelet can be adjusted up to a wrist circumference of about 17.5 cm. Some people decide not to buy the bracelet because the length is not enough, so longer bracelets are relatively rare.
