IWC Ingenieur 3521 Black

This is one of the representative collections of IWC, Ingenieur, which means "engineer" in German.

Description

The "Ingenieur", which was born in 1955, was an improved version of the pilot watch Mark XI (11) for consumer use.

Equipped with a self-winding movement and an inner case made of soft iron, it was characterized by extremely high magnetic resistance, impact resistance, and water resistance.

This watch was introduced in 1993, and it is a model produced until 2000, and the design with a sense of luxury sports stands out.

The reason is that this watch was designed by Gerald Genta .

Gerald Genta was the designer of Patek Philippe Nautilus and Audemars Piguet's Royal Oak, the same IWC yacht club, and had a huge impact on subsequent watch designs.

Currently, vintage Nautilus and Royal Oak are very expensive and hard to come by, but I feel that this Ingenieur hasn't received much attention yet.

Although it has a simple design without a crown guard, the line of the case, rug and bracelet seems to flow, giving a very sophisticated impression.

The glossy black dial and gold index pencil hand are also a luxurious combination.

The case size of

34mm is a little small, but I think it looks a little bigger when attached to the wrist.

There are very few watches with this size, so it's a valuable model in that sense.

The

movement is equipped with a machine based on Jaeger-LeCoultre's Cal.889 / 2.

This Cal.889 / 2 is a highly acclaimed movement that has also been adopted by Jaeger-LeCoultre's Master Control, Audemars Piguet's Royal Oak, and Vacheron Constantin's Patrimony.

Since it is protected by a soft iron inner case between the movement and the back cover, there is no need to worry about magnetic susceptibility, and you can use it without worrying about the impact of everyday use.
